The story of a family of 5 told in all authenticity of a dream too big to be contained…
Always avid for adventure, Annie and her husband Martin fled their native Quebec in 2016, accompanied by their three young children then aged 5, 6 and 7. Armed with courage and perseverance, they set sail without too much previous navigation experience, apart from a few classes and practises here and there. Aspired by compulsive consumption and plunged into a daily life that no longer suits them, they seek something greater than themselves, an experience of happiness, complete and inspiring, to live in pure simplicity.
They are chasing one of their wildest dreams. They sail around part of this world, of course, but mostly around themselves. They come back to earth transformed, anxious, uncertain about the western values conveyed but remain convinced that their new destiny will surpass their greatest aspirations.

Returning from a big (even a small) trip always requires readjustment. Awareness is needed. We must reappropriate a life that seems adequate to us after all the sudden changes while traveling. You have to develop a new routine, new habits, new skills, sometimes a whole new life … The longer the trip, the more difficult the return is. Coming back seems trivial but many fall into depression after a trip. Why?
“Les saisons du retour” poses the question, and accompanies the author in this anguished return to a transformed land.
